Photographs of Camp Mythe, based in Mythe House

by Susan McAdoo

Susan McAdoo, is the daughter of T/Sgt. Olin McAdoo, an American serviceman stationed at Depot G-25 during the Second World War.

He passed away in 1982 and  had a collection of photos, one of which showed him standing at a bar, labelled "Officer's Bar, Camp Mythe."

I was wondering if you had any information about the location of Camp Mythe.

Olin McAdoo at the Officer's Bar at Camp Mythe (not very informative, I'm afraid) The second photo is of the HQ office staff.  Farthest to the left is my father, Olin McAdoo.  One of the women might be B. ("Red") Yendall, who was living at 26 Naunton Park Rd. in Cheltenham in 1945.  She and my father corresponded a bit after he left England.  He also heard from a woman named Merry (I don't know the surname).
This photo is of the HQ staff at work.  The second typist is my dad -- not because I can recognize him in the photo, but because he has his pencil behind his left ear!  (He was left-handed). This picture is of HQ and HQ Co, Ist Ordnance Motor Base:
from left (back row): Frank Supik, Jim Patterson, Albert Ewing, Dennis Murphy, Max Miller, Earl Pleu, Earl Stedman
(front row): Frank Murphy, Fred Quillen, Henry Kinsey, Olin McAdoo, Ken Troup (holding dog), Bruno Falbo, Herb Cooper, Ed Diehl
Some buildings and tents are visible in the background.
