Life outside the Camp

The notorious stories are of ,'black and white nights' - where, because of the violence between them, black and G.I.s and their White counterparts were not allowed to visit Tewkesbury on the same night.

 

We have no photographic evidence of this aspect of their life but folk memory in the town is sympathetic to the Blacks.
